e-Invoicing: The Deadline You Cannot Miss
By Consaya Editorial — 2026-10-29
The Federal Tax Authority has drawn a line in the sand. If your firm turns over AED 50 million or more in a year, you must be ready to e-invoice by 1 January 2027.
This is not a suggestion. The FTA recently reminded businesses subject to e-invoicing that penalties await those who miss the deadlines, and the first gate is already here: you must have appointed an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026. That date is not far away. If you have not done so, your e-invoicing setup cannot proceed on time.
Why this matters is straightforward. It cuts down on dodgy paperwork, makes audit trails automatic, and leaves no room for "the invoice got lost". The FTA has made it mandatory for high-turnover firms because the compliance burden without it is enormous for both the Authority and the businesses themselves.
The sequence is firm. You pick an Accredited Service Provider before the end of October, they configure your systems through November and December, and you go live on 1 January 2027. If you are still shopping around for a provider on 15 November, you are behind. There is no extension window. The FTA does not often warn twice.
One other thing: if your firm is below AED 50 million in revenue, this does not apply yet. But the threshold will drop over time. Smaller firms are watching because they know this deadline will chase them down in the next phase.
Consaya does not handle e-invoicing integration itself, and it does not file directly to the FTA's e-invoicing portal. What it does do is keep your books filing-ready and flag deadlines so you know when action is due. When you appoint your Accredited Service Provider, your accounting records need to be clean and complete; Consaya maintains that state so the handoff to e-invoicing does not expose gaps.
The real mistake is waiting.
