FTA services go down for Eid Al-Fitr
By Consaya Editorial — 2026-08-15
The FTA goes offline for Eid Al-Fitr. That means no VAT returns, no corporate tax filings, no access to EmaraTax until services come back online.
This happens every year and still catches people off guard. You can't submit a return on the holiday itself, and if your deadline falls on or near Eid, you need to file early or plan for delays. The FTA website will confirm exact closure dates, but assume you're locked out for the full Eid break.
All FTA services run through UAEPass now. There's no paper submission, no back door, no exception process. If the system is closed, it's closed. Quarterly VAT returns for March-May quarter, any corporate tax instalment due during that window, refund applications—everything waits.
This isn't a compliance violation on your end if the closure pushes your deadline, but you can't rely on that logic with the tax authority. The safe move is file three or four days before Eid if anything is due that month. Don't test it.
Consaya flags what's due and when, so you see the Eid window coming. It keeps your books filing-ready and won't let you drift past the real deadline.
Check the FTA calendar before your next compliance month.
