The FTA is running community sessions to explain how UAE tax actually works

The Federal Tax Authority is holding public discussion sessions in Dubai. They're calling it part of a push to foster what they call "constructive community dialogue" around tax.
This matters because most businesses—especially smaller consultancies and agencies—still treat tax compliance as something separate from how they actually run.
The FTA's outreach through the Emirates Majalis Initiative is one signal that the authority wants less friction between businesses and filing deadlines. If you've got questions about what qualifies as a taxable supply, how to handle client refunds under VAT, whether your consultancy needs to register at all—these are the kind of conversations that still trip people up.
But here's where most accountants and practice owners get stuck: even if you understand the rules, you still need to pull together the actual numbers every quarter for VAT 201 and every year for corporate tax filing. Invoices scattered across email, bank transactions coded wrong, client work recorded but not billed yet, expenses mixed in with personal spending.
You won't need to hunt for answers if the numbers are already in order.
