Freelance & Solo

Deliberately small — a deposit, a revision round and an invoice that gets paid.

A solo operator shown a fourteen-step workflow closes the tab. Consaya’s freelance setup names only the two places a solo project loses money: the deposit that was never taken, and the revision round nobody agreed to. Everything else stays out of the way.

How Freelance & Solo firms use Consaya

Proposal and deposit

A signed proposal with the deposit named as step one, so the work does not start on a handshake.

Track the time that matters

Log hours against a project or an hourly assignment; keep the ones that are billable separate from the ones that are not.

One revision round

The revision round is part of the plan rather than an argument at the end, which is what stops a fixed-scope project running to three.

Invoice and chase

Send a compliant invoice with a real due date, and let the reminders do the chasing instead of you.

Personal and business, separately

Keep a personal book alongside the business one if you need to — a personal book never claims recoverable VAT, because a consumer cannot offset it.

In the UAE

Registered or not, the invoice is right: with a TRN it carries 5% VAT, and the dashboard shows when your turnover is approaching the AED 375,000 registration threshold.

What changes

  • Get the deposit before the work
  • Stop unpaid invoices ageing quietly
  • Know what an hour of yours actually earns
